Might be the first member of my family whom I would open out to
So Hi my blogger people out there,
So Hi my blogger people out there,
- I know its been such a long time since I've blog although not many people really read my blog so I can really open out in my blog. I do have a journal the traditional diary(book) my pain is all there. I hope that one day many years from now people would have a chance to read about the young and confused adolescent.
- Oh, if you guys don't know, me and nazri broke up. Not really the breaking up where we hate each other but we feel that our relationship is more of casual friends that a real gay relationship. so we decided to go on our separate ways.
- So back to the main topic of this post, I am writing about the homosexuality law in Singapore. I've been spending a lot of time discovering more of myself and of course studying( you can never get this geek away from his books). Anyway, regarding to Singapore's gay community I feel that although people are "OK" with it, we can still feel the repulsion of them. Meaning that there is no acceptance but there is tolerance. You see, we can actually sense that, or lack thereof. The reason for this is that sometimes Singapore's administration manages to give an impression of somewhat homophobic. Its like what PM Lee Hsien loong said at like around 2005, after his short speech at a luncheon organised by the Foreign Correspondents Association, he said that he is aware that homosexuality is genetic and it is not a choice. I was fully on his page right there until... when he said that he does not support Gay Pride like those in San Fransisco, the PFLAG and all that jazz. Although I find it true especially in S'pore. SO i shall not comment further on that part of the topic.
- Another thing is that (EX i think) Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong's comments in the 7 July 2003 issue of Time (Asia) magazine about homosexuals that "...some people are born that way. We are born this way and they are born that way, but they are like you and me." He also stated that gays would now be allowed to serve in 'sensitive positions' in the Civil Service and that homosexual acts are still prohibited. Well truthfully I am blessed to be a Gay boy in Singapore cause I realise that there are other countries that have more animosity against the gay people. Maybe its because of the dreadful laws that the British left behind after singapore gain independence ( I did my research). It's about time Singapore grew up, I think, and realised that gay people are here to stay given the acceptance and not the tolerance. Just treat us with respect like we treat everybody else and the world will be a better place, I think.
